Winona-Ryder

Winona Laura Horowitz, professionally referred to in the media as Winona Ryder was born in Winona Minnesota. Her parents named their daughter after her hometown. Michel Horowitz' father was editor and author, as were Cynthia Palmer and her mother. Ryder's mother and father also happen to be Jewish. Ryder believes herself to being Jewish. She has two younger half-siblings, Jubal and Sunyata. In the year Ryder was only seven her family relocated into Mendocino County California. They didn't have electricity. Ryder was a prolific reader due to the absence of television. Ryder started to take acting classes at the American Conservatory Theatre when she was 12 years old. In the year she turned 15years old, Ryder was offered her first acting job on screen, in Lucas. Ryder was bullied throughout high school. Ryder believed that her future as an actress could bring about change. Sadly that didn't happen. The actress continued to chase her dreams. Beetlejuice which was a 1988 Tim Burton film, was her first big breakthrough. Ryder played roles that were successful in several movies. In 1993, she received an Academy Prize for The Age of Innocence.
